In 2008, the Becker Big Lake Youth Hockey Association began looking for way to develop players that could be carried through all levels of youth hockey and also standardize the cirriculum for coaches at all levels. The Mitron nexGEN® High Performance Hockey System was selected and implemented in the fall of 2008.
Mitron is the only true curriculum based coaching system in the world. The program is organized as a linear development model, designed to graduate players from level to level by applying the proper weighed percentage factors to each core coaching skill competency on a year to year basis. These competencies include Technical (Fundamental), Tactical, Physical and Mental skills.
