If you have not heard of them, Defending the Blue Line is a non-profit whose mission is to ensure that children of military members and veterans are afforded every opportunity to participate in the game of hockey.
They accomplish this by providing free hockey equipment (courtesy of the National Hockey League Player Association’s Goals and Dreams Foundation, Easton, and Graf Canada), access to some of the finest summer hockey camps at no cost, and grants to help with local association fees.
If you or someone you know is in the military, military reserves, or a veteran who could benefit from this service, please pass the word. This is a great way to lower the cost of hockey for the children of our veterans, past and present and could possibly be the difference in a child playing or not playing our great sport. Also, if you would like to donate out grown gear or even volunteer, go to DTBL website below for more information.
If you have any questions regarding how their equipment process works, please contact the Communications Director.
