No Name® Hockey Kid of the Year�

Hockey parents this is your opportunity tell us in 100 words or less why your kid deserves to be the No Name® Hockey Kid of the Year�! Based on these essays, six finalists and their families will be chosen to attend the Minnesota Wild home game on February 8^th. During a pre-game ceremony two of the finalists will be chosen to receive the Grand Prize, including a road trip to a Minnesota Wild road game, autographed20jersey and much more.

Kids ages 5 to 18 are eligible for contest entry and will be judged based on their sportsmanship, school performance, community service and their “State of Hockey” contributions. All entries must be received by January 3^rd, 2009.

Support the Proposed Community Ice Arena

THANK YOU to the Big Lake School Board for supporting the proposed community ice arena. On Tuesday, September 9th, 2008, the Big Lake School Board held a Special Meeting to vote on the abatement request to help finance the proposed community ice arena. To date, the City of Big Lake, Big Lake Township and the Big Lake School Board have all passed resolutions supporting abatement to help finance an arena!

The Becker Big Lake Ice Association must now work with Sherburne County for support of the abatement. Please contact all the Sherburne County Commissioners and request their support for the arena. Please use the following link to be directed to the Sherburne County Board of Commissioners site:

History

Since its inception in 1993, BBLYHA has evolved from a few youth who simply loved to slap a puck around the outdoor rinks, to an organization whose purpose is to promote ice sports throughout the communities of Becker and Big Lake.

We are a member of Minnesota Hockey and are a non-profit youth hockey organization dedicated to provide for each player a fun, motivating, and learning environment that emphasizes teamwork and good sportsmanship.
