Becker Big Lake Youth Hockey Association (BBLYHA) is organized and structured within the guidelines established by the state governing hockey board, Minnesota Hockey Association (MHA). MHA is in turn governed by the national organization, USA Hockey. District 10 is the local hockey chapter to which BBLYHA is a member. As policy is established by either the national organization (USA Hockey) or the state organization (MHA), the directive is given to District 10 leaders who are responsible for the execution and adherence to policy by each of the individual associations. Within Minnesota and MHA, there are 12 directors representing each of the hockey districts. There are also numberous leadership positions representing special interests in hockey, such as women's hockey, junior hockey, referees, etc. There are numerous volunteer opportunities for any individual who would care to become involved in the activities of their children. There are six (6) elected positions and three (3) appointed positions:
Duties, responsibilities, terms, and election procedures for each of these positions is more clearly defined in the association by-laws. Combined BBLYHA/BBLIA monthly meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 7 pm at the Becker Community Center, Becker, Minnesota. Meeting minutes are included in the monthly association newsletter, which can be found on the association website. Any meeting changes due to holidays, etc, will be announced in the association newsletter. |
