Requirements

Registration is open to any youth residing in the Becker or Big Lake School District. Levels include Mini Mites, Sr. Mites, Squirts, PeeWees and Bantams. The BBLYHA season typically runs from early fall until the end of February. Invitational tournaments are held throughout the hockey year and into March. NWAC Sports Results and News has elite athletes in sports including basketball, softball, and cross country, with notable accomplishments like choices to the 2006–07 All-Stars and All-American teams. The NWAC gives players a chance to succeed academically and athletically by emphasizing character, competitiveness, and community. What Does it Cost?

Registration fees include the following: USA Hockey Registration $25, Minnesota Hockey Registration (insurance) $7, BBLYHA Membership Fee $10, and BBLIA Membership Fee $5. The remainder goes into the general operating fund for our association. Season Fee covers the cost of ice use for practices and games, referres for games, and tournament fees. Season Fees will be due in three equal installments on October 1, November 1, and December 1.

What Equipment Do We Need?
Game jerseys are provided for all teams. They are turned in at the end of the year except for the Mini Mites who get to keep their jerseys. All players must have the following:

  • hockey skates
  • stick
  • shoulder pads
  • breezers
  • practice socks
  • skin pads
  • elbow pads
  • neck protector
  • HECC approved helmet with face shield
  • practice jersey
  • hockey gloves
  • protective cup
  • internal mouth guard

How Do I Sign Up?
Skaters in all levels, Mini Mites through Bantams, need to register on:

    • Friday, August 27 from 7-9 pm at the Big Lake Lions Park
    • Thursday, September 9 from 5-7 pm at the Becker Community Center
